Two

My baby boy has turned two and coincidently, like I've said before, he's very good at it.

He...
...makes his ideas known.
...looks straight into my eyes for approval, comfort, and reassurance.
...runs everywhere.
...smiles with a playful, underbite smile and gently nudges foreheads with me (I think it's his playful way of hugging me).
...bumps into things, hard, without shedding a tear.
...laughs and giggles at anything he thinks is funny, which is just about everything.

He also...
...randomly shrieks at the top of his lungs and throws himself onto the floor in a fit.
...skips naps for days in a row then sleeps less and less throughout the night.
...shouts, "NO, NO THANK YOU!" when he opposes something like diaper changes or snack choice.

But...
He knows what he wants.
He projects his voice and speaks with confidence.
He is more eloquent and articulate than any two year old boy I've ever met.

He is strong and tender.
He is confident and independent.
He is sociable and sincere.
He is sweet.
He is funny.
He is a goofball.
He has an imagination that blows my pea-brain out of the water.

In two long and  painstakingly challenging lovely years,  I've grown up a bit.
Perhaps I'm a slow grower, but I'm a grower, nonetheless.
Ajay Zane, you have changed me into the best person I've ever been.

You are as your name means,
God's precious gift.
