Grateful

For big, dark hazel eyes and milky soft skin...

For attention to detail...
For firetrucks and jeeps loaded with crayons...
For creative outbursts...
For big-guy muscles and motor sounds...
For belly laughs galore...
 For cute pouty poses...
 For shiny peach-fuzz heads...
For candid expressions...
For giant nerdy glasses...

(And for digital photography!)

Love

This guy loves to love.
This guy loves to be loved.

'Nuff said.

Little Mister

He is bright, inquisitive, and curious.
He has a great sense of humor.
His heart is tender and sincere.
His world is expanding.
He is ready for bigger adventures.
He is expressive and oh, so precious.
Our little baby has fast become a little boy.
I did not say, "Time flew" simply because it didn't.
I can account for all 554 days of our little boy's life.

Yes.
Every 13,296 hours of his life that I have been available to him.
Every good, bad, wonderful, or ugly minute has been on purpose.
I can't change the bad, but the ugly...well, let's just say that I'm a work in progress.
Aren't we all?

Some moments have been fleeting because I wanted them to be.
I want to redo those moments.
I'd say:
"Take a deep breath. You can do this.
Think about what you want to remember during this rough spot.
Don't be a bunghole."

Seriously.

When I'm walking in Love, the entire home is at peace.
The Holy Spirit is a smooth operator and I say to Him,
"Lord, have Your way in me!"

I thought as new stages in Ajay's development emerged, I would change because he did.
Isn't it just completely the opposite?!?
He is not property that I control.
He is an entire person in a little form.
He has his own ideas and his own personality.
He is not a mechanical doll or robot.
He has feelings.
He needs to feel loved 100% of the time.
He depends on me to be focused, available, and consistent.
I respect him as an individual.

I am to train him up, not to make him independent.
What a privilege it is to watch this sweet-hearted boy develop.
How divine it is to be involved with him in becoming the man God has made our Little Mister.
